The Ocean Race, progetto Service as action
Un’unità didattica MYP collegata al Service è stata riconosciuta nell’ultima Newsletter internazionale di The Ocean Race. Gli studenti MYP2 hanno studiato gli effetti della plastica sui nostri oceani durante le lezioni di lingua Inglese, mentre lavoravano sui Phrasal Verbs, ricerca ATL e tecniche di ricerca fonti. Il prodotto finale per ogni gruppo di studenti è stato un opuscolo, inteso a sensibilizzare sull’argomento, tutto incluso in questo Padlet.

At DIS, Service is an integral part of the CAS programme in the DP but is equally important in the MYP. Our teachers believe in its importance so much that even in the new Primary School, we often involve students in Service-based activities too. CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) in the Diploma Progrmame at DIS
As the IB explains, “CAS enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience. It provides DP students opportunities for self-determination and collaboration with others, and fosters a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment from their work. CAS is also an important counterbalance to the academic pressures of the DP.”
